See tigers play in a large pool or go on an African bush safari without leaving the states. While at the park, learn about the animals who have been rescued and how they are being cared for to ensure their safety and health. Get up close to a sloth or take a ride on a zip line. There’s something for everyone at this park, and families often want to return more than once. It’s easy to find a place to stay in Sedona near this popular attraction.
Cathedral Rock
A person may travel to Sedona simply to get a picture of Cathedral Rock. This natural sandstone butte remains one of the most-photographed sights in the state. Situated in the Coconino National Forest, the attraction can be easily accessed by way of Arizona Route 179, and visitors can choose to take the Cathedral Rock trail to see the beauty of the area up close.
Montezuma’s Well
Anyone who wants to see a piece of history should travel to Montezuma’s Well. People have called this area home for thousands of years, although Anglo-Americans did not arrive until 1870. Not long after they did, the Back family made this a tourist attraction. They remained in charge of the site for over 60 years. In 1947, the National Park Service purchased the site, and many of the original structures can still be seen. This sinkhole is actually a collapsed underground limestone cavern. Over one million gallons of water flow through it each day, leaving behind a lush oasis surrounded by desert grassland.
Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course
Vacations are meant to be fun, and there is no better place to enjoy family time than Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course. Family members can compete on an adventure course or try their hand at zip lining. It even has an adventure course for children as young as seven. Plan this trip alongside one to Lowell Observatory and stay to have a meal at one of the many dining establishments in the area. A family can make an entire day out of a trip to this area and have fun the entire time they are in Flagstaff.
Slide Rock State Park
At one time, Slide Rock State Park was a family-owned apple orchard. However, the family felt the need to sell in 1982, and the state wanted to buy the land. Governor Babbitt was running the state at the time and was very familiar with the property. He spent time there growing up and wanted other people to experience the same enjoyment he did while at the orchard. That led to the creation of Slide Rock State Park. Today, people can explore the orchard, wander down the trails, or sit a while and view the wildlife. This beautiful park is a great way to relax and recharge while visiting Sedona before returning to everyday life and all that comes with it.
Plan a trip to Sedona today. People who do find the area so enjoyable they want to return in the future. They have the opportunity to reconnect with nature and one another rather than spend their days inside. This is one destination every person should visit in their lifetime.
